Jackie Cumberbatch has been producing his Mas bands under “Jackie & Associates” for the past 16 years.  He is known for his great artistic wire bending, his skeletal metal structures and armatures for huge parade costumes.  Mr. Cumberbatch has his own Mas Camp in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area, where he creates and designs all of his costumes for the Washington DC Carnival, that takes place every year during the last weekend in June.  Mr. Cumberbatch has won the competition titles of King, Queen and Individual of Carnival for a number of years.

Mr. Cumberbatch has also been to several carnivals throughout the USA, including Brooklyn, NY, where the costume he designed and built won Queen of Carnival; in New Jersey the costumes he designed and built won the King, Queen and Individual titles; and in Boston the costume he designed and built won King and Individual.

For the past eight (11) years, Mr. Cumberbatch has traveled to Trinidad for the Carnival season.  He is known for his unique style in bending metal wire, designing and decorating costumes for bands such as “Banquet of the Nile”.  Mr. Cumberbatch also designs and produces Individual costumes upon request.  In addition, he designs and produces his own individual costumes, which has won in numerous categories.   

The following list is of the individual costumes he produced and designed that won in the 2006 DC Caribbean Carnival, as well as other winnings for his 2006 band Presentation in DC Caribbean Carnival:  (1) 1st Place Winner of Individual Male (Adult) Portrayed by Herman Samuels "Trinidad"; (2) 1st Place Winner - Junior Queen Portrayed by Briana Gibbs Johnson "Trini on the Rise"; (3) 3rd Place - King of the Bands Portrayed by Eric Beharry "Quest of the Nation; (4) 2nd Place Winner of Large Band of the Year 2006; (5) 2nd Place Winner for Spirit of Carnival; (6) 1st Place Winner of the Best Float; (7) 1st Place Winner for Best DJ (DJ Blast).
